Statement of Faith

God: We believe in the trieternal unity of God that exists in three distinctive Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are coequal and coeternal (Deuteronomy 6:4; Philemon 2:6).

Bible: We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original language, and infallible—does not endorse anything untrue—and holds ultimate authority in determining all doctrinal truths. It is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16; Romans 16:25-26; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

Jesus Christ: We believe in the person and the work of Jesus Christ (the Second Person of the Trinity), who is the Son of God, being conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born from a virgin in human flesh and living a perfect sinless life. We believe in His miracles, atoning death on the Cross, and bodily resurrection; He ascended to heaven to be on the right-hand side of the Father, offering intercession on behalf of the church as our High Priest. We believe in His imminent return to judge the living and the dead.

The Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit (the Third Person of the Trinity) that proceeded from the Father and the Son, who convicts the world of their sin, righteousness, and judgment to come. He regenerates the spiritually dead to life, baptizing them in the Spirit, indwelling and sealing them as children of God, and filling the man with his fruits and gifts.

Salvation: We believe in salvation by grace through faith alone. It does not rest upon the merits of man’s charitable works or efforts but is freely given to him by God for His purpose and pleasure and will. It is a gift from God that saves us from the bondage of sin.

Sin: We believe in the total depravity of humankind. Sin entered the world through Adam, the first man, who was made in God’s image. Consequently, a man is spiritually dead and alienated from his Creator and thus cannot save himself from his lost estate.

Spiritual Gifts: We believe God gave spiritual gifts to the church and intended them for the edification and building of the body of Christ.

Sacraments: We believe in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper as partaking in His body and blood, as well as in the baptism of water that identifies a believer with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

New Birth and Eternity: We believe in the new birth and eternal life that is given to every believer upon receiving Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Unless one is born of the Spirit, he cannot inherit the eternal life secured by Christ’s atoning work. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost on the day of judgment. The saved will spend life in eternity with God, and the lost will be damned to an eternity away from His presence.

God’s Church: We believe the church is the body of Christ, made of all baptized people. Jesus is the head of the Body. He has called the church His bride and left her here to be a witness to the world until He returns on the day of Judgment.
